HOME DECOR COLLECTION
REPRESENTING REFUGEE RESILIENCE AND DETERMINATION
We are partnering with UNHCR to create our 2018 Feature Collection made by Burundian refugee artisans in the Mtendeli Camp in Northwest Tanzania. The home decor products combine traditional Burundian weaving with modern colourful designs representing the resilience & determination of the refugee artisans. Sacks in which refugees receive their monthly food rations are recycled and woven into the grasses.
THE REFUGEE COLLECTION is officially being launched in February, 2018 at the International Ambiente Trade Show in Frankfurt, one of the biggest trade shows of its kind worldwide.
The launch is carried out in the context of the introduction of a global UNHCR brand called MADE51. The brand brings together a select number of social enterprises working with refugee artisans around the world to develop a unique global brand of products made by refugee artisans.
